Dear curly hair girl
…whilst you get all the eyeballs and compliments for your unique locks, we know how hard it is to manage or the dread of finding the right stylist to care for your beautiful curls!
When visiting a stylist for the first time, I recommend coming into the salon with your hair on your favorite good hair day. Day 1? Day 2?, 3? Curly haired people know what this means!
This way when you describe the beautiful quirks of your hair they can be seen… It is really hard to visualize textured hair when it comes out of a 3 day ponytail!
Depending on what you want to do I, for the most part, prefer to cut curly/textured hair dry. It is rare to see a person with perfect even curls over their whole head.
Some sections are frizzy, some straighter than others. When hair is wet, this is very hard to see.
Some clients prefer to leave with their unwashed, some washed and styled. I recommend listening to your stylist when it comes to styling. I fully understand it is a treat having your hair straightened when visiting the salon! However, until your stylist gets to know your hair, they may need to style it curly to see how it is going to react to the dry cut and see if it may need some tweaking.
